BEN DELAY – I DON’T KNOW (DRY & BOLINGER REMIX)

German DJ and production tandem Dry & Bolinger seem to have no end to the wonderful creative streak they’ve embarked on in the last few months. Freshly released their remix of fellow German compatriot Ben Delay’s ‘I Don’t Know’ is adding another credit to their long line of productions in 2015, including releases such as: ‘Tell Her’, ‘Say You Care’, ‘The Soul EP’, and ‘Fell in Love Remix’ amongst others.

Paul Drynda and Daniel Bolinger, the duo behind the Dry & Bolinger stage name have been making waves in the electronic music industry in recent years. Landing Beatport’s ‘Top 10’ with their first effort, they continued their ascension with various releases signed to heavyweight labels such as: Mother Recordings, Kittball Records, King Street Sounds, Tiger Records, Milk & Sugar Recordings and Emma Music amongst others. They have since become one of the leading German music exports with their trademark blend of House, Deep House, Nu-Disco and Indie Dance, which earned them the support of top international DJs namely: Pete Tong, Bob Sinclar, Purple Disco Machine, Mihai Popoviciu, Copyright, Sam Divine and Alle Farben to name a few.

Offered as part of a two-track package together with the original mix, Dry & Bolinger’s remix of ‘I Don’t Know’ kicks off with a trademark House beat, accompanied by a steady string-synth note in the background. The filtered vocals then introduce a groovy, melodic element into the mix, which brightens up the feel of the remix, drawing elements from Deep House. A slight breakdown gives way to a deep, subby section which completely changes the mood of the production with its dirty bass-synth bass-lines and highly processed vocals. An ascension heads to an intensified version of the chorus which continues to add energy to the single before hitting a sudden halt. A soulful, stripped-back part gives air to the track, making use of string-syths to give a mellower touch. Dry & Bolinger devise another pumping chorus to follow, showing their mastery of song sectioning which they cleverly use to control the single’s dynamics, before starting to lead the way towards its conclusion, lessening energy with every step.

‘I Don’t Know’ EP, which contains Dry & Bolinger’s remix as part of the offering, is being released by Da Way Records. This project marks Dry & Bolinger’s debut on Da Way, who have been busy establishing their specific brand and views of electronic music ever since they started operating. The duo will be joining this label’s growing list of artists, comprised of names such as: Haze-M, Animal Picnic, Rishi K., Bardia F., Lee Walker, Fabry Pandolfo, Matteo Floris and many more. Dry & Bolinger are setting their bar higher with every release, and their remix of ‘I Don’t Know’ is surely paving the way for more top-notch releases from the eclectic duo.
