After the triumphant ‘The Ego Death’ EP release with Ronald Christoph which is taking major traction worldwide right now, label boss Ben Spalding returns to PuzzleProjectsMusic with another dynamite dancefloor collaboration, this time teaming up in an electric partnership with promising Italian artist Ranka.
Their first offering is the original deep slice of acid mind-melt titled ‘9AM Madness.’
The deceptively simple track is an immediate winner, combining a perfect reverb-heavy beat, a neatly filtered tribal conga line, and delay-laden disco claps, ‘9AM Madness’ properly announces itself after 90 seconds with an acid flex and sizzling hi-hats. And it’s some entrance, thanks to that bassbin-wobbling, almost narcotic bassline.
From there the intensity slowly builds through spoken word snippets and cleverly panned percussion creating a wonderfully hypnotic deep groove. The artful suspense finally gives way to a truly hedonistic breakdown: all sunrise melodies, dropped beats, and that slamming acid break creating a euphoric hands-in-the-air crescendo.
Straddling the genre gap between tech-house, deep house, and acid, the aptly named ‘9AM Madness’ is perfect sunrise material for the wide-awake and wonky club. But thanks to its restrained structure, it’s equally adaptable as a set opener or a mid-set thumper.
With support from some of the major heavyweights in the scene, 9AM Madness will without question, be a main fix in track libraries of the tech & deep house scene.
