Bernstein & Rivera - Bernstein & Rivera – Deep

The sound of Summer is here: A meeting between Miami, Mykonos and London, Deep is the new single from Bernstein & Rivera featuring the song-writing and vocal talents of Lindsey Butler.

Robbie Rivera is no stranger to the dance music scene. Having collaborated and remixed some of the world’s biggest musical talents – from Kylie Minogue and Madonna to Deadmau5 and Tiesto – the Miami resident can confidently claim his place in the annals of dance music history. 2015 sees Robbie busier than ever with releases on Axtone, Ultra, Size, Yellow and his own Juicy label.

Collaborating with German duo Bernstein – comprised of CJ Stone and Rico Bernasconi – adds a new dimension to Robbie Rivera’s house music credentials. Blending up a Bouzuki [a Greek musical instrument that was brought to Greece in the 1900s by Greek immigrants from Asia Minor, for those who are interested in such details] riff which lends an instantly different feel to a track which incorporates elements of disco and house with a bubbling analogue bass and the incredible vocals of Lindsey Butler, recent contestant on BBC’s The Voice where she was mentored by Welsh legend Tom Jones. An in-demand songwriter, Lindsey penned the 2015 single Moments for multi-Grammy Award winner Sam Smith. Here Lindsey’s instantly recognisable vocal beauty and class add an impeccable sheen to a distinctly different take on house music.

To further add to the package we get some high quality remixes that reflect the diverse and global nature of dance music. First up is the UK’s Funkagenda who engineers a hypnotic Techno hybrid that is unashamedly old school. Then Robbie Rivera delivers his own Tribal twist on the collab before Harry Romero jumps in with a remix that has already had Chocolate Puma, Mike Mago and Crookers purring. Not be outdone, The Factoria’s Wally Lopez gives things a Latin edge and Italy’s Stefano Pain drops a Progressive version that demands hands above shoulder height.
