When the musical minds of Erick Morillo, Junolarc, and DJ Eako come together, the end result is simply sublime tech house. Their new track “Better Life,” out now on Subliminal Records, starts off with a deep and dark intro that slowly builds with progressive sweeps and uplifting pans meeting with Miss McClore’s vocals. The new track is filled with atmospheric textures and layers featuring underlying humming bass and pulsing kicks.
Raised in Colombia, then New Jersey, Erick has a litany of diverse influences like Latin rhythms, reggae and hip-hop from a young age. Sparking his interest in DJing at only 11 years old, Erick is now a platinum-selling artist with globally chart topping releases including “Reach,” “Believe,” “Do What You Want,” “I Feel Love” and Reel 2 Real’s 90s dance hit “I Like to Move It” (used in both Madagascar movies). He even collaborated with P Diddy and Boy George on his debut album. Morillo’s non-stop DJing schedule has seen him cross the globe playing renowned clubs and festivals including Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Pacha in Ibiza, Marquee in New York and Avalon in Los Angeles. Erick Morillo recently released “Thunder & Lightning” with Eli & Fur, and signed Berlin-based Junolarc to Subliminal records earlier this year. So look out for more exciting collaborations to come.
