Up-and-coming producer Alex Adair has an enviable ability to transform any track into an exemplary dance record whilst maintaining the true essence of the original. Stepping further out of his comfort zone today and into the realm of gospel and soul, he has spun Leon Bridges’ breakthrough track ‘Better Man’ into a dazzling display of sun-drenched sax, sliding guitars and sultry smooth vocal hooks. Still on a high from the release of his original track ‘Heaven’ in early August, Alex has produced yet another perfectly packaged cut, infused with his trademark rich melody and summer sentiment. Staying true to the emotion and grit of original, Alex has permeated Leon’s smooth yet rasping vocals with his distinct tropical sound. On ‘Better Man’, the young producer introduces the listener to the classical horns that epitomized Leon’s stunning debut album, and in turn, embellishes the track with a unique blend of the old and new. Taking that fusion as the inspiration for his bootleg, Alex steadily introduces contemporary elements to complement Bridges’ nostalgic tone. Reverbing snares combine with guitar riffs as Alex’s tropical drums provide the perfect backdrop to Leon’s silky topline, demonstrating the young British producers’ innate and consummate talent.
To say Alex Adair has had a successful 12 months would be an enormous understatement. With millions of streams worldwide for his track ‘Make Me Feel Better’ and the support of trendsetters Annie Mac, Zane Lowe and Mistajam, Alex’s rise to prominence has been both swift and convincing. With ‘Heaven’ acting as the impeccable follow up to his debut smash, Alex’s consistency and production quality belies his young years and sets him in great stead for a blockbusting year in 2016.
With remixes from MOWE, Kideko and Elderbrook on the way, use this opportunity to bask in ‘Heaven’s glory and be sure to check out the brand new video!
