Bruised Records label head Big Lou joins Vibe Chemistry on his recently launched imprint Make Your Era, whose aim to bring you upfront drum & bass is delivered through Big Lou’s forthcoming ‘Thoughts’ EP.
Vibe Chemistry has proven himself as a force to be reckoned with, alongside crossover radio support and stacking tens of millions of streams across platforms. This has included collaborations with the likes of Rudimental, and now his label takes centre stage with Make Your Era beginning to grow a weighty catalogue.
Collaborating and working with several underground stalwarts such as Magenta, Jayline, Ironlung, Exile and more, Big Lou’s support has also included household names, racking up plays from Sigma and Camo & Krooked. And already dropping his sounds at seminal venues Ministry of Sound and LDN East, the track-list for his ‘Thoughts’ EP proves he’s just as efficient in the studio as he is behind the decks.
The EP begins with its title-track pushing through alongside jutting grooves and featuring Big Lou himself on vocals, proving he’s a multi-talented artist in the truest sense. Lostboi then joins Big Lou for ‘U’, a vocal roller with shuffling levels of percussion. Meanwhile MC AC provides the growling prowess of ‘Conflict’. ‘Lost Somewhere’ adds a dash of versatility to the EP, with winding notes and plucking string arpeggios. Up next, Lostboi arrives for a second time with Big Lou, as they bring ‘Left Alone’ to the forefront, a late-night dancefloor stomper with soaring vocal crescendos. As a package, it’s an epic debut for Big Lou on Make Your Era as the label continues its ascent in 2023, showing its launch to be a successful one.
