BBK Bilbao Live, situated in the beautiful Basque region of Spain and taking place over 6-8th July 2023, has today announced another round of massive acts to join their already star-studded line up. Bilbao BBK Live will be welcoming the likes of Pavement, Arca, Villano Antillano, Desire, María Escarmiento, Perfume Genius, Roísín Murphy and Ry X. This year the festival has confirmed the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine, Röyksopp, Jamie xx, Phoenix, Idles, SHERELLE, and M83.
The cult indie heroes Pavement, who kicked off their reunion tour last year will be bringing their undeniable eccentric energy and catalogue of classic tracks. The Venezuelan producer and vocalist Arca will be serving up her mind bending sounds to the crowd and Perfume Genius who will transport the crowd with his originality and fearlessness.
Indie singer/songwriter Eee Gee carefully combines an eclectic mix of indie-pop, folk and soul to create a modern sound that will have the crowds deep in their feels, alongside the Puerto Rican rapper Antillean Villain who will bring her fierce flows and energetic queer Caribbean spirit to the masses at BBK. Art School Girlfriend, the singer-producer-multi-instrumentalist will be serenading the crowds with her atmospheric and emotional compositions, as well as Eneritz Furyak who has established herself as one of the key new voices of Basque music.
The iconic dance pop diva Roísín Murphy, who’s performances are filled with energetic dance moves and lively spirit will be rocking the BBK main stage. Mexican-born Bilbao native, Sama Yax will be bringing her high energy DJ sets to the dance floor, plus the Australian singer-songwriter RY X will be captivating the crowds with his mesmerising vocals for an awe-inspiring performance.
Also appearing this year at BBK Bilbao Live will be Dalila, Desire, La Paloma, María Escarmiento.
At Bilbao BBK Live, art is a fundamental part of the festival’s creative assets; previous artwork featured a powerful image of the harrijasotzailes (a stone lifting rural sport in the Basque Country, Spain) now the artwork features the legend of Tximistarri, a basque word meaning ‘light stone’. This is the fourth image that the festival have unveiled as part of the art-music alliance between the artist Vicente Paredes and Bilbao BBK Live, with the common objective of showing the identity and idiosyncrasy of Euskadi.
BBK Bilbao Live is committed to the care of the natural environment, especially the beautiful festival site itself and surrounding areas. They strive to emphasise the importance of raising awareness around climate change and the urgency of caring for the environment itself. With this in mind they will continue to allocate €3 of each ticket sold to the reforestation of the area burned in Balmaseda, Enkarterri to contribute their part in rebuilding the affected area.
Tickets are on sale via festival’s website and seetickets.com, with the chance of paying in installments and purchasing camping options.
