Bime Returns To Bilbao This October

BIME will celebrate its eleventh edition in Bilbao from October 25 to 28, 2023. Sustainability and Artificial Intelligence will be the main topics that will be discussed in the BIME PRO conferences. Today, the first names of professionals who lead the program come to light.

BIME: A Beacon for International Music and Culture Returns for Its Eleventh Edition in Bilbao
Calling all music enthusiasts! BIME, an established global platform championing music and culture, is delighted to be celebrating it’s eleventh edition from October 25 to 28, 2023. This event will once again transform Bilbao into a pulsating metropolis of melodies and insight for four sensational days.

Following its milestone tenth anniversary celebration last year and a prosperous second outing in Bogotá earlier in May, BIME has carved out an irreplaceable spot on the global cultural calendars. The conference strives to amplify the vibrant ecosystem encompassing music, creating a convergence point for dedicated professionals who contribute daily to this rapidly evolving sector. BIME aims to be a driving force in shaping the future of music collectively.

BIME’s carefully curated program is divided into two significant segments to cater to both industry professionals and the general public. BIME PRO, targeting industry insiders, offers three intensive days of networking opportunities, enlightening presentations, masterclasses, and immersive workshops. These will be held at the prestigious Euskalduna Palace from Wednesday to Friday. Simultaneously, BIME LIVE will captivate the city, filling local venues and open-air stages with live performances accessible to all music lovers, culminating in a grand finale on Saturday night.

BIME Music Conference is dedicated to promoting responsible practices and sustainability in the music industry. The upcoming BIME FEST congress will feature panels and workshops addressing key topics such as reducing carbon footprints, promoting sustainable business practices, efficient resource management, and accessibility. It aims to encourage responsible practices across the music industry’s value chain. The conference also focuses on achieving inclusivity through the BIME MUSIC EQUALITY FORUM, with discussions on generational change, Afro-ancestry, and motherhood in the music industry. Artificial Intelligence, music synchronisation, and collaborations with brands will be prominent themes, offering insights from publishers, copyright experts, and legislative perspectives.

Furthermore, BIME strengthens its commitment to music synchronisation for audiovisual formats by partnering with the ‘Guild of Music Supervisors’, attracting top international supervisors and establishing BIME as a key meeting point in the music sector. This edition of BIME introduces programming that explores the relationship between music and brands, including interactive workshops on successful artist collaborations and current marketing trends. BIME expands its scope, providing a platform to explore new collaborative opportunities in music and marketing.

THE MUSIC INDUSTRY IS AWARDED AT BIME
BIME week in Bilbao will feature three prestigious awards ceremonies. Firstly, the acclaimed FEST AWARDS will celebrate their 10th anniversary. Secondly, the BIME EQUITY AWARDS, initiated by Amazon Music, will honor female and LGTBIQ+ talent, acknowledging their exceptional careers, future potential, and social contributions. Finally, the MUSIC MOVES EUROPE AWARDS, introduced for the first time at BIME, will highlight emerging European artists who demonstrate immense promise. This esteemed accolade, previously received by renowned artists such as Mumford & Sons, Dua Lipa, Zaz, Queralt Lahoz, and Stromae, aims to support these artists in their international career development, further promoting their exceptional talent across Europe.

A SPACE TO TAKE THE INTERNATIONAL LEAP
BIME has become the leading international music industry event, attracting delegations and artists from countries such as Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, Mexico, Cuba, Peru or the Dominican Republic, from America, and Germany, Countries Netherlands, Portugal, Finland and Italy, from Europe, among others. This year, BIME partners with Acción Cultural Española (AC/E) to organize “Programando Europa,” an international meeting of music programmers from Europe and Ibero-America. BIME’s commitment to internationalization continues with programs like Conexiones i, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Spain and Next Generation EU Funds. The event also welcomes prominent associations like LIVE DMA and EMEE. Additionally, BIME hosts showcases for emerging artists from various countries, providing a platform for industry professionals and the public to discover new musical talent from around the world.
