Bime, The International Music Industry Conference, Unveils Details Of Its 2023 Event In Bogotá, Colombia

After being in Colombia for the first time last year for an incredible successful 2022 edition, BIME returns to Bogota once again to host the first 2023 edition. BIME is the essential event for professionals in the music industry via the BIME PRO area, there’s also an opportunity for the general public to discover first-hand the big artists of the future plus enjoy a vinyl market and other activities as part of BIME LIVE. 

BIME Bogota, the worlds leading music industry meet up, will take place in Bogota’s Creative District of San Felipe, where culture, creativity and entrepreneurship converge to create a space to discuss the present and future of the music industry.  This second edition on the South American continent will take place from the 3rd until the 7th of May with a complete schedule of conferences, concerts, workshops and networking opportunities.

BIME Bogotá has the support of the Department of Culture, Recreation and Sport of Bogotá and Open San Felipe, a project that celebrates the arts as cultural and economic development force of the city.

THE FUTURE OF MUSIC IS DEBATED AND BUILT IN BIME

For 11 years, BIME has been a hub to support the international music industry where participants discuss and research local and global answers to the challenges facing the sector. Starting first in Bilbao as the European location every October and since 2022 also hosting an event in Bogotá, Colombia in May.

BIME creates a bridge between the European and American industry, resulting in the participation of artists, music industry professionals and attendees from over 40 countries and the involvement of key cultural delegations from  Canada, the United States, Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Spain, France, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Finland and more.

A MULTICULTURAL PROGRAMME BY INTERNATIONAL INDUSTRY LEADERS

Attendees will enjoy panels, talks and workshops hosted by more than 130 music and creative industry professionals across topics including sustainability, copyright, music supervision, digital platforms, management and record labels, web 3.0, synchronization, marketing, AI and more. Some of the key speakers include Adrián Restrepo (ES), General Director of SGAE; Anamaría Artemisa Sayre (CO/US) from NPR Alt.Latino; Andres Shaq (CO) of Warner Music; the renowned producer Camilo Lara (MX), Clara Pérez Miñones (UK) from the creative communications agency Full Fat; Devin Landau (US) international agent and founding partner of TBA Agency; Frankie Rodriguez (US) President of Franchize Entertainment; Isabelia Herrera (US) from Pitchfork; Jonathan Finegold (US) music supervisor and Founder of Fine Gold Music; Julyssa Lopez (US) of Rolling Stone; Juan Tomás Tello (ES), music supervisor of La Casa de Papel; Kanessa Tixe (US) Founder of TS Collective; artist Kasbeel (CO); Lex Borrero (CO/US) Co-founder and Director of Neon 16; Loren Medina (US) from Guerrera; María ElIsa Ayerbe (CO/US) Latin Grammy winner and CEO of the independent label South Mountain Music; Nicolás Madorey (AR) Director of FUTURX; Paz Aparicio (ES) Director of the WiZink Center in Madrid; artist Roco Pachukote (MX) co-founder of the Maldita Vecindad group; Rubén Gutierrez Del Castillo (ES) Director of the SGAE Foundation and Verónica Piana (UR) Manager of Cuarteto de Nos; with many more speakers to be announced soon. 

International agents, international tours and festival promoters along with representatives of large international venues, will also be part of the programme. 

Elsewhere, The CAMPUS space, alongside with the SGAE Foundation, The Spanish Society of Authors and Publishers, will offer a valuable training space featuring masterclasses and workshops for people looking to get their foot in the music industry. 

For entrepreneurs and innovators, the StartUp Village will offer a space to present to investors and corporations. A selection of the most disruptive proposals in the sector will be featured, with a chance for 8 finalists to compete for important prizes as well as a trade mission to BIME Bilbao (Spain) in October 2023. 

With DEI at its core, the Music Equality Forum programme will welcome the collaboration of associations like Keychange, shesaid.so, Femnoise, Ruidosa, MUSAP, WIM Colombia and MIM LATAM and Equal Music. As part of the Music Equality Forum, BIME will kick off a directory to celebrate and give visibility to the work of associations that promote a fairer industry for women and the LGBTIQ+ community at a global scale.

Once again, BIME will host the Conexiones i programme aimed at small and medium-size music industry companies looking to expand internationally. The programme counts with the support of the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sports within the Next Generation EU programme framework. 

BIME has, among others, the support of the Secretary of Culture, Recreation and Sport of the Mayor’s Office of Bogotá, Idartes, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Spain, the SGAE Foundation, Sounds from Spain-ICEX, Argentine Chancellery-INAMU, Chilemúsica, Acción Cultural Española, AIE, Navarra’S Music Commission and Basque.Music among many others.
