Luka Sambe & Filter Bear - Birds Of The Ravine

Swiftly following Nick Warren & Tripswitch’s huge ‘Voight Kampff’ (ODST0003) release, the recently launched onedotsixtwo label’s next unique artistic step forward comes in the form of another intensely creative collaborative pairing – Luka Sambe & Filter Bear. As two of Australia’s finest creators of emotional journeys bursting with melody and soul, these rapidly rising stars have created a truly unique and spellbinding experience in ‘Birds Of The Ravine’. This outstanding package is further augmented with an exceptional individual remix interpretation from each artist.

The deeply delicious ‘Birds Of The Ravine’ floats beautifully on a sophisticated groove, its magnificently intricate arrangement gradually unveiling an utterly enthralling musical story. When these two artists collaborate, something uniquely special always seems to flow from their hearts. Luka Sambe’s groove sensitivity and mind-bending percussive style flows like a liquid cloud when combined with Filter Bear’s atmospheric chord progressions and subtle motifs. For his solo remix, Luka Sambe, beefs up his groove components and adds some delightful esoteric elements, creating yet another melodic masterpiece. In perfect creative contrast, Filter Bear dives deep into experimental electronica territory, creating the perfect filmic finale for this exceptional package.

When Luka Sambe and Filter Bear first met as young teenagers in suburban Sydney, Australia, one thing was immediately evident – an almost unhealthy, shared obsession with music. Living just a few streets apart, a close friendship developed and led to the start of a musical partnership stretching over 10 years. Over time, they have developed their unique individual approach and creative style, that has resulted in numerous solo and collaborative releases on leading underground labels such as Lost & Found, TRAUM Schallplatten, Armadillo, Sudbeat, Replug, and many more. Combined, their personal and honest art becomes a distinct Luka Sambe & Filter Bear production that sounds truly unique, and it is no wonder that their work is strongly embraced and supported by fellow creative mavericks such as Guy J, Hernan Cattaneo, Solomun, Sébastien Léger and Robert Babicz, to name but a few.

Nick Tripswitch’s onedotsixtwo label venture launched in June 2017 with his first mix comp – ‘In At The Deep End’ (ODST0001) – a stylish summer affair featuring no less than 23 exclusive tracks that joined the dots perfectly between past, present and future. Now, the renowned DJ/Producer and musical chameleon is revealing a series of stunning single releases from a new family of friends and collaborators. There is an abundance of excellent music to come in 2018 and you are advised to keep your ears to the underground…
