Birmingham recording artist, musician and songwriter Namywa is back with a brand new single titled “Sober“.
Known for supporting stars like Jacob Banks, Etta Bond, Gregory Porter, Public Enemy, Jimmy Cliff and Teedra Moses with her live band on tour circuits across the country, Namywa has also been emerging as a up-and-coming solo artist in her own right, and has been making a name for herself in the Midlands.
Speaking on the inspiration behind “Sober”, Namywa says, “Sober is that defining moment when you realize you don’t need your side of the story told. I know a lot of people’s stories go untold and I hope this song helps them to find peace in knowing they are worth it and that they are sober from the dark side of love”.
Using life as a muse she writes songs that deliver on true emotions, surprising listeners with a distinctive voice and aura way beyond her years, blending genres of R&B, Soul, Jazz, and Pop music.
Across live music, she is quite simply a force of nature, with her striking styling and accomplished stagecraft, making her the focal point of an exciting all-female band of musicians.
