Thundering with indolent guitars and screeching synths, laced with an early 00s vocal line reminiscent of Io’s Rapture, and carrying a Middle-Eastern-inspired instrumental swagger comes ’70w (Vaded)’ by black a.m. In the world of homogenous electronica, where the algorithm rules supreme, it’s a delight to come across something so ear-catchingly different.
black a.m., aka producer Sinclair Wheeler, has been one to watch since 2019. As black a.m. he’s bagged spots at marquee events like Insomniac’s Park n Rave series, and reaped praise from the likes of John Summit, NGHTMRE, JOYRYDE, Slander, and DJ Craze. Signed to Ultra Music for his remix of NGHTMRE and Gunna’s ‘Cash Cow’, he’s also released on Slow Roast Records, accumulating over 600,000 streams over platforms. As instrumentalist, producer, and writer Sinclair Wheeler, he’s toured with MGK as guitarist, and made a major impact on NGHTMRE’s The Portal Tour.
With ’70W (Vaded) just the start of a new musical adventure for the rising talent, the future of electronic and house looks golden.
