Black Eyed Peas’ Apl.de.Ap invites fans to become co-producers

Apl.de.Ap, one third of iconic pop supergroup Black Eyed Peas, will release his next solo single ‘I Wish’ on revolutionary label Fankee – offering 25% shares of the track’s master rights to fans in a unique opportunity to become a credited producer and reap the royalties.

Days before the track goes live on DSPs on April 4th, the Edgar Sino (Artek606) co-production will go live on Fankee. Fankee members will then get the chance to buy shares of the single, with each share set at a minimum price of $5 and a maximum of 5 splits per fan ($25). These new co-producers will then promote the single across as many social channels and DSP playlists as they can, each increase in streaming numbers directly affecting royalty fees.

For high rollers, there are five “Golden Shares” available to buy, at a cool $1000 each. As well as pulling in higher royalties, these five Golden Shareholders will also get private 1-2-1 mentoring calls with Apl, and exclusive signed merchandise.

As per Apl’s request, 50 splits are available for Fankee users who use the single as a sound track to social content. With members’ socials linked to the label, Fankee can track and measure the interactions, shares, likes and more of posts using ‘I Wish’. Creating a ranking system and defining how many fans will receive a share of the track (e.g. the top 5), Fankee can then reward fans with the best results on socials with ownership.

It’s a unique model that puts fans at the heart of the release process and also shifts the balance from purely financial investment to one that also significantly rewards effort and reach. Fankee CEO and Founder Giacomo ‘Jack’ Pellegrini explains further: “Social media decides what blows up, and fans hold the power. Fankee turns that power into ownership, because if you’re driving the hype, you should own a piece of it.”

The fans are the ones who have made it possible for me to live as a musician and for that I am thankful,” added Apl.de.Ap. “Fankee has a revolutionary model that allows the fans to join in on the backend of this song as a thank you for all the support. I love you.

APL.DE.AP ‘I WISH’ IS RELEASED MARCH 21ST 2025 VIA ALL DSPS AND DOWNLOAD SITES VIA FANKEE.
