The connected label welcomes DJ Angelo for a superb new single that’s sure to prove an instant dance floor classic this summer.
DJ Angelo grew up in Greece and is a vital party of the country’s house scene. He runs Global Fantasy, a party that books Djs like Black Coffee and Culoe de Song, and has played all over Europe from WMC to ADE via Berlin, Paris and New York. As a producer he has dropped releases on the likes of Tribe Records, NuLu Electronic, Nite Grooves and now connected. This new EP was the result of going into a studio with the intent of making some music that was a departure from his previous releases, hence the title.
The track itself is built on a triumphant minimalist beat with real dance floor drive. Compelling synth details, soft shakers and spaced out vibes all suck you in as occult sounds of nature and eerie atmospheres pervade. It’s hugely evocative and destined for big things. The beauty of the synth pads and hypnotic effect of the drums is emphasised on an excellent instrumental version.
This is another cultured release from the always excellent connected label.
