Flipping about like a fish on a frying pan is the latest tech-house heater from Miami duo Black V Neck, ‘Oral Music’. Teaming up once again with Dutch heavyweight Afrojack the pair are in fine form, their signature irreverent style stomping all over this cheeky little cut for a surefire festival winner.
“The idea of the record came about when we first met Afrojack in the studio,” the duo said. “He loved our record ‘Mouth Music’ and wanted to have a similar vibe which led to the creation of “Oral Music.” We’ve been teasing it for a while now, but we are happy to release this on our own label. This record is sure to stand out as it’s not your average Tech House record.”
There’s clear studio chemistry between the trio, Black V Neck having already collab’ed with Afrojack on their single ‘Day N Night’. On Oral Music the vibe is boisterous, high hats, claps and vocal stabs popping across a swinging, swaggering bassline. Jacking up against a syncopated topline, it’s a groove that has been designed with one thing and one thing only in mind – to make your body move. Rhythmic, infectious, and fun, ‘Oral Music’ will undoubtedly find its way onto club dancefloors and into festival arenas as the summer season gets into full flow.
Discovered by Shiba San in 2017 for his label Basement Leak, the duo have gone on to release on Sink or Swim, Repopulate Mars, Confession, Insomniac Records, Defected Records, Dirtybird, and OWSLA. Support has been similarly stratospheric: Claude VonStroke, Chris Lake, Green Velvet, Lee Foss, Afrojack, Diplo, Marshmello, Tchami, and DJ Snake getting behind their productions in the mix, David Guetta, Afrojack, Salvatore Ganacci, Volac, John Summit, Tommy Trash, and Walker & Royce call on their studio skills for remix duty. They’ve also collated an impressive litany of club and festival performances: EDC Vegas, EDC Orlando, LIV Miami, Academy LA, MDL Beast Festival, Countdown just the tip of an ever-growing iceberg.
With more new music in the pipeline, and ‘Oral Music’ certain to destroy global sound systems, Black V Neck continues to live up to both the hype and the promise.
