Blackchild (ITA) Jazz Ensemble EP

Rising Italian Blackchild (ITA) takes to Solid Grooves to open August as he makes a label debut with his ‘Jazz Ensemble’ EP.

Hailing from Ischia, Italy, Gennaro Filisdeo aka Blackchild (ITA) has emerged onto the European scene following a string of EPs via the likes of NONSTOP, NOEXCUSE and Inmotion Music since his production debut back in 2016. A regular across his home nation, the Italian has since gone on to build and establish a wave of support from leading names including Marco Carola, The Martinez Brothers, wAFF, Joey Daniel and Solid Grooves Records co-founder Michael Bibi in recent months, leading to a debut on sister imprint Solid Grooves Raw this summer as he drops his two-track ‘Jazz Ensemble’ EP to open August.

Lead track ‘Jazz Ensemble’ reveals a snaking and hypnotic percussive journey as slick organic drum licks meet rich brass melodies across six minutes, whilst the energy driven, up-front ‘Agartha’ introduces commanding female vocals, slinking hats and driving bass tones to round out proceedings with authority.
