Words are beginning to fail us to describe the young Brazilian producer Davi Hemann. Just when you think you have sung his praises, he produces another banger that breaks the mould for producers his age. At just 17, Davi has already had releases on ShiftAxis and Lily Records and shows no signs of abating. The only way is up for him, and his new single ‘Blackjack’ is another example of his unique take on the growing EDM scene.
The follow up single to last years successful ‘Whisper’ and ‘Spaces’, Davi throws caution to the wind in his debut for Spinnup Records, as he blends pumping drums with evocative lead synths which make way for a raucous lead melody sure to be stuck in your head for the rest of the day. The track starts with the powerful percussion before descending in to a dark, genre-transcending breakdown to create maximum impact on the devastating drop.
Spinnup are known for their ability to help gain young and up and coming artists exposure but, even by their standards, they must realise what an absolute gem Davi Hemann is. A growing label too, it makes perfect sense for them to combine with a rapidly growing artist and remind everyone of their amazing ability to scout new artists.
With a growing catalogue of releases under his belt, and a view to play even more shows over the coming months, the Brazilian wonder kid strikes gold once again and shows why he is on the lips of so many heavyweights in the industry.
