Bold Parade
‘Flowers In The Dirt’ EP
Suzume Recordings
Acclaimed producer and multi-instrumentalist Paul McMahon (Crashdaddy / Bellcrash) unleashes his brand new project Bold Parade by way of his stunning ‘Flowers In The Dirt’ EP, bringing a taste of the project’s first fruits, ahead of the album release later this year. Across the 3 tracks you’ll find a glorious array of sun-drenched mellow and jazzy grooves all executed with the highest standard of musicianship by performers hand-picked from around the globe, including brass and flute heavyweight, Alex Saxon. The EP title track, ‘Flowers In The Dirt’ features up and coming vocalist Vytaute, whose melancholy tones flow over a funky backdrop adorned with playful brass melodies. ‘Always’ features vocals from long time Irish collaborator, Marti Buchanan, and is a soulful downtempo groover with a retro funky flavour, where pretty flute melodies pirouette around Marti’s captivating tones before jumping into some sublime key solos. Closing out the package is the incredible cinematic retro jazz jam, ‘Cutting Room Floor’, which comes loaded with intoxicating brass and hefty key slaying wizardry that bubble over a toe-tappin’ groove that would sit right at home on a 60’s movie soundtrack, oh, and Craig Charles is a big fan of this one!
