Bondax – Setting House Parties Alight Up and Down the UK
Three Funktion-Ones in a small semi in Bristol, hundreds of people queuing to get in a Victorian terrace in Glasgow, one in one out in every room in the house in Nottingham, music so loud the walls were shaking in Sheffield – over the past few weeks Radio 1 tipped dance act Bondax have toured the country, setting ablaze to ordinary houses as they went. In each city they played (Leeds, Bristol, Nottingham, Glasgow and Sheffield) they found a willing student to help them set up a proper old skool house party. Locations were leaked on the day, chaos ensued and privileged attendees witnessed the house party of the year. The duo brought with them friends and fellow rising stars Karma Kid, Bohdi and Snakehips whose presence ensured the foundations were properly rattled.

Undoubtedly one of the hottest acts to emerge this year, Diplo tipped Bondax are becoming firm favourites of the likes of Radio 1’s Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw, thanks to their distinctive brand of new dance music, 4:4 glitchy R&B made for clubs. It’s early days, of course, but there’s every chance that in years to come, they won’t be looked at alongside the hip club producers of the time, but in a category with Moby, Gorrillaz, LCD Soundsystem and other such acts which have taken dance grooves to the biggest stages and the widest audiences
Bondax have recorded their debut album at Red Bull Studios in London, due for release spring 2014.
