On 25th April 2016 esteemed Spanish DJ/producer Ramiro Lopez is set to release his latest EP via Carl Cox and Jon Rundell’s seminal imprint Intec entitled, ‘Botannical’.
This killer two-track offering marks the Spaniards highly anticipated return to Intec, following his two previous acclaimed EPs (‘Backtrip’ in 2014 and ‘Truce’ in 2015) plus a series of releases on imprints such as Suara, Octopus, Toolroom and Stereo Productions amongst others.
The EP’s title track, ‘Botannical’, commences the release, offering a heavy but simple driving groove that pushes on throughout the track with a wealth of growling synth stabs adding to the dark and twisted soundscape.
‘Calculated Risk’ is next up and like its forerunner similarly boasts a dark and sinister atmosphere, featuring; a tough chuggy beat, razor-sharp synthlines and eerie pitched-down vocal samples. A dramatic breakdown comes half-way through, seeing the track’s layers stripped away before gradually gaining momentum once again to create the track’s impressive climax.
‘Botannical’ is available exclusively via Beatport on April 25th and everywhere else two weeks later.
