Boundary Brighton Festival Launches ‘Pay What You Can Afford’ Initiative

Boundary Brighton Festival (28th September at Stanmer Park in Brighton) has launched a ‘Pay What You Can Afford’ initiative. For one week only (14th – 21st August), Boundary aims to give back to the community that helped it become Brighton’s biggest electronic music festival, in particular 18 – 24 year-olds forced to cut back on going out due to the cost-of-living crisis. Boundary will allocate 1,000 tickets to this campaign and festival-goers can buy up to two each at whatever price they can afford, starting from just £10 per ticket. Boundary Brighton will donate 25% of each ticket sale from this new initiative to its charity partner, Starr Trust, helping it to continue its vital mission to empower young people in the region. Tickets are available from https://bit.ly/BoundaryPWYCA.

Over 100 festivals have been forced to cancel this year with many others reducing capacity or cutting back on production. Despite six sold-out events in the past seven years, Boundary observes the financial challenges facing the industry. However, instead of cutting costs, it plans to take a positive approach, using the ‘Pay What You Can Afford’ initiative to give back to its community and help deliver the festival to its usual high standards.

As many young people struggle with the cost-of-living crisis, this initiative ensures that the acknowledged, positive impact of live music events and socialising on mental health is not limited just to those who can afford it. With a lineup including Wilkinson, Songer, K Motionz, Flowdan, Harriet Jaxxon, Denis Sulta, Joy (Anonymous), Ewan McVicar, Eliza Rose, Friction, Serum, Sota, Badger and many more, Boundary Brighton will be a date on the calendar that ticket holders can look forward to.

Boundary also recognises the support of those who have already bought tickets for this year’s event and loyalty tickets will be made available after the festival. Boundary also asks those who can afford standard tickets to show their support for the festival and the live music industry by purchasing these and not using the ‘Pay What You Can Afford’ option.

Brighton is home to the Boundary team and the festival has a deep connection to the community, supporting various organisations throughout the year. Alongside the Starr Trust, Boundary is also partnering with Brighton Uni Student Union for 2024, as well as Tickets For Good which provides free and heavily discounted tickets to NHS staff, NHS students, and NHS contractors.

Local electronic music artists and promoters also benefit from support from Boundary Brighton with local venues hosting stages and playing a pivotal role in curating lineups of the most exciting local talent. Boundary actively promotes stage partners’ events, celebrates their achievements, and helps build their communities throughout the year.

The vital support received to date has helped Boundary move forward this year despite a challenging environment. The launch of the ‘Pay What You Can Afford’ initiative sees the festival give back with thanks.
