C-Way shares new project ‘The Epiphany’

Releasing his explorative debut mixtape ‘The Epiphany’, C-Way adds 10 tracks to his rapidly developing artist profile.

A skilled, self-taught studio engineer, C-Way skims over RnB, Rap, Drill and melodious Pop as an artist. His fluidity lends to an adventurous and versatile sound that allows him to express topics, emotions and art in a curious yet commanding way. Having previously released ‘Butterfly’, the only track on the mixtape to of been released prior to the full collection, its success is a striking premonition of C-Way’s future wins. The visual, which has been viewed almost 250,000 times, is co-directed and co-edited by C-Way himself alongside Luke Biggins (Stefflon Don, Roddy Ricch, Fredo), and is captivating, daring and deeply metaphorical, contributing to the depth of the lyrical content it wraps itself around.

Seemingly appearing out of nowhere, the self-confessed introvert is somewhat an oxymoron as he pursues a journey of music. Fueled by his childhood challenges and life’s grueling turns, C-Way illustrates his experiences through creative narration and imagery, explaining: “I take full control of all areas of my life which includes the creative process behind whatever idea I have, whether that be sound engineering, music production, song writing, music video directing or editing”. It seems that mirroring his creative intent, he is also a shrewd businessman and has independently built his own music platform for which to launch his music in the form of his YouTube channel, which has enjoyed a collective 335K views since its launch less than a year ago.

His burning drive is evident in his carefully curated tracklist for ‘The Epiphany’, “It’s all in the name, I had an epiphany and went to work!” says C-Way. The result is built from exploring his own musical voice and exploring genres, with deeper rap tones making their appearance on tracks such as, ‘Drill Freestyle’, ‘Pain’, ‘For Me’ and ‘Switch’. In other moments on the tape, a softer, melodic singing voice lay out more tender and pain driven offerings as heard in ‘Outta School’, ‘Grass Aint Greener’ and ‘Butterfly’. What is evident from this striking debut is that the range C-Way has to offer is gifted in both his voice, and also in his ability to apply it to varying emotions, genres and topics with stunning results.
