Cake continues to lead from the front with a focus on big room club sounds, and for their next event they have spectacular South African live specialists Goldfish headlining at Electric Brixton on May 1st.
Cake is a much loved party that excels at putting on big, festival sized shows with light and sound to match. Add in mesmeric production and an up for it crowd, and you have a very special atmosphere that makes for hugely memorable events. Electric Brixton, of course, is a theatre like venue that makes for a swirling and intense cauldron of light, sound and good vibes and always makes for a fitting setting for this most sensory stimulating party.
Hailing from Cape Town, Dominic Peters and David Poole’s Goldfish project had humble beginnings – starting out mainly as a platform for impromptu jams at their tiny local club on the beach. Things would soon change with the release of their debut album, a unique record that served as a breath of fresh air for a stale scene and catapulted them into the big time.
Four more acclaimed studio albums, countless international awards, seemingly endless dates around the world, and a residency at Ibiza’s mecca of club culture Pacha would follow – although Dom and Dave would never lose sight of the infectious joy and wit that made their music so special in the first place. Set to raise a sea of smiles with their fusion of live instruments, electronics and anthemic vocals, this is the Cake you can have and eat too!
