24th July sees Milan double act Proudly People release their debut EP on Mar-T’s essential imprint, Wow! Recordings, entitled ‘Usual Questions’.
Since forming in 2011, Proudly People have gone on to release on several critically acclaimed labels, including Flashmob Records, D-FLOOR, Desolat, Moan Recordings, Bouq and Rawthentic Music, and this year sees the pair also holding a residency at popular Ibiza venue, Eden.
‘What Is That’ kicks off the release, offering up a dark Tech House framework that features a funky bassline, looped-up vocal samples and a cosmic synth pattern that darts in and out of the six-minute track.
‘Asking For A Tool’ follows, as the dynamic duo weave exuberant tribal-infused drums and shimmering percussive elements with a bass-driven 4/4 rhythm.
Closing this excellent three-track release is, ‘Can You Repeat It’. A deep-groover that once again employs a tight Tech-House beat, gradually introducing manipulated vocals, choppy drums and other scattered pad effects to great effect.
‘Usual Questions’ EP is available exclusively via Beatport on July 24th and everywhere else two weeks la
