Nyra - Canoe 001

Canoe is a brand new label from an artist who has been on a break. Now Nyra is back after a few years being a pro cyclist and seems filled with ideas. After early releases on labels like Never Learnt and Freunde Der Famillia he is now doing this his own way. Launching the label from the off is an EP with three of his own new cuts on it.

They really showcase his diverse style because across all three tracks he offers plenty of new ideas. DAT is a busy first opening with wild acid lines dancing about, electric percussion cutting up the groove and a one note bassline that is stiff and brings real energy. Save Lite goes a little deeper but is filled with watery synth sounds, raw Dance Mania style ghetto percussion and thumping, bumpy drums that never sit still. It makes for a high impact tune, to be sure. Last of all, things get fully back to the old school with a ravey tune that is laced with ecstasy. Horns and sirens, dirty old breakbeats and rib rattling bass all add up to a sire fire party starter. This is a killer package to kick off what promises to be a great new label.
