Capital Cities – One Minute More (Arguello Remix)

Up-and-coming Colombian producer Arguello is continuing his ascension to stardom with yet another of his signature remixes. Arguellos’s take on Capital Cities’ ‘One Minute More’ is a New Year gift to his followers, and thus available as a free download. Although Arguello is now known also for his unique sounding original projects, he is still keeping true to his roots in remixes, re-edits and bootlegs, which kick started his blossoming career. His ‘One Minute More’ remix is looking to continue the prosperous path he picked up with his previous singles including the highly-rated ‘Pantheon’. Released via RKJ Music, ‘Pantheon’ is not only one of the highest selling tracks for the label, but has also turned heads amongst international press, including the likes of The EDM Network and a host of globally subscribed online magazines, blogs and social media networks. Moreover, this remarkable production has gained the support of universally renowned DJs such as: Blasterjaxx, Marco V, Joshn Dish, D.O.D., Victor Niglio, Moska, Revero, and Merzo.

‘One Minute More’ is surely another feather in the cap for the Miami based producer. Holding Chillstep, Trap and Tropical influences, this production truly brings together Arguello’s distinguished sonic tone. Starting with an epic choral execution, the track shifts into a chilled groove and verse section. Whilst the main vocals are given prominence, the verse is characterised by a tambourine-led backbeat drum rhythm together with a mesmerising, swirling synth effect in the background. Shifting into the instrumental drop, the remix offers a different layer of sonic colour, with a laid-back lead synth melody and a harder drum groove that then gives way to the angelic vocal choir to shine. Arguello re-proposes another startling verse-drop combination to then further pump up the instrumental part. The track ends with a chilled, dreamy bass-driven conclusion. Whilst Arguello kept true to some elements of the original song, such as the lead vocals and the dreamy feel all-round, he gave a totally different vision to it. The remix puts forward a more electronic infused version, with a grand, laid-back groove that adds a higher degree of openness.

‘One Minute More’ remix is a proper display of what Arguello is truly capable of. His young age is hidden behind his deep musical knowledge, immense sonic control, bountiful creative mind, and musical maturity much beyond his age. Whilst his enormous talent is rightly rewarded by his current success, who knows what’s yet to come from such a pristine talent. Arguello is definitely an artist to keep an eye on in the very near future.
