Chai Chang Drops New Song ‘Music Warrior’

After debuting last year as a solo dancing singer, Chai Chang releases his second English digital single – ‘Music Warrior’. The track is an electropop and dance-pop song that is created to pay respect to Chai’s music influencer CoCo Lee, an international renowned singer. The lyrics describe how a music warrior uses music as a tool to overcome all barriers. No matter how hard the difficulties are, one must remain confident, stay positive and never “back down from the climb”. The song ends with the line “now listen to the sound of a warrior”.

“Following the release of my debut single last year, finally after one year here I am back with a new track. This song is specifically designed where listeners can keep looping it and feeling the strong emotions,” Chang said.

Chang was brought up in Hong Kong, China with Cantonese being his mother tongue. Since childhood, he has been passionate about music and influenced by C-Pop, K-Pop and Western music. “I initiated the concept for this song in July 2023, right after the passing away of my music idol CoCo Lee. She was widely regarded as a significant figure and a diva in C-Pop. I was fortunate enough to have met her in person on several occasions and attended her concerts in the past. Her smile, energy and music talent inspire me to stay strong and positive,” Chang stated.

 

“In fact, I never received any formal training in music when I was young,” Chang emphasised. “In my hometown, focusing on studying and achieving good academic performance are always top priorities. There is a traditional belief that academic excellence allows one to secure a high salary career such as doctors, lawyers and other professions and demonstrate success in life.”

Chang confessed: “Having studied 3 different Bachelor/Master’s degrees that bear entirely no relevance to music, I believe it’s never too late to start pursuing a career in music. Since early this year, I have started to get involved in vocal techniques, music theory and production. Throughout these processes, I have gradually grasped a deeper understanding of the basics of music and specific music genres that I would like to focus on. To gain more experience and exposure in music performance, I’ll start doing busking and participating in live shows.”

Coupled with the release of Chai Chang’s second single ‘Music Warrior’ is a new music video that captures contemporary dance in 3 different outfits and settings.

“I would keep on challenging myself and creating artistic character of my own. With my obsession and determination with music, I hope the audience can feel my passion and share my enthusiasm. I will continue to strive for improvements, not letting my audience down,” Chai affirmed.
