Iban Montoro & Jazzman Wax are two of the hottest new producers from Spain’s underground scene. With previous releases across many top labels including i! Records and King Street Sounds, and support from A-lister Laurent Garnier, Seth Troxler, Richie Hawtin, Marco Carola, Luciano and Loco Dice to name just a few, here they make their Strictly Rhythm debut with the two-track ‘Chicago EP’.
The title track is an infectiously upbeat house cut, with a meandering vocal sample at its heart that’s guaranteed to lodge itself in your head after the first listen. ‘Sabroson’ meanwhile calls to mind the Latin influences of early NYC house pioneers such as Masters At Work, and demonstrates the duo’s love for and adeptness at crafting cuts from the classic, inherently musical side of house music.
