The DJ duo Chus + Ceballos will launch their debut artist album, Nómadas, in September of this year. The success of their productions over the past 15 years, combined with the remarkable progress of their Stereo Productions label and participation at the iconic Burning Man (a primary source of their inspiration) has pushed the pair to finish the project that has long been on their radar: a conceptual, authentic record with quality music.
The first single from the album is “Abisinia feat. GiGi,” a studio collaboration with Italian producer Leonardo Gonnelli, with whom they previously worked on last year’s “Soledad.” Teeming with hypnotic synths and ethereal, shamanic vocals of ancient origins, the single is an excursion into the deepest end of the sound spectrum, buoyed by a modern sensibility. Strongly influenced by GiGi’s motherland of Ethiopia, the sonic walkabout will keep the crowd locked into a meditative groove on the dancefloor. “Abisinia” will be released on June 8th, along with a powerful remix by famous Spanish DJ-producer UNER.
Accompanying “Abisinia” is its music video, which evokes the albums’ nomadic essence by tapping into viewers’ primitive tendencies through mystic imagery. Filmed in Ibiza with the mysterious Isla Es Vedrá in the background, the video channels the unique energies that can only be found in magical areas such as the Balearic Islands.
Known for their trademark Iberican sound – a hypnotic blend of warm and inviting tribal soundscapes laced with modern tech elements – Chus + Ceballos have figured out the formula that easily satisfies every punter within the clubbing collective. But it is not only the starry-eyed clubbers that worship at the altar of Chus + Ceballos; the world’s most celebrated DJs sing their praises and rely on this duo to fill their box with some of the most essential late-night g
