King Britt brings his Scuba moniker out of retirement and joins a slew of remixers on Circle & Rise 8’s ‘Gone Too Deep’ on Worship Recordings.
Circle and Rise 8 last teamed up for their ‘What You See’ release on Leftroom Limited two years ago and since then Paine & Landis have continued focusing on Worship Recordings whilst Rise 8 have been recording their full length album.
‘Gone Too Deep’ evokes a poignant melancholia from the off with the use of subterranean production and Rise 8’s Gerhardt Koerner’s haunting vocals. Bringing his legendary Scuba moniker out of retirement, King Britt, a dance music legend from Philadelphia and mentor of Rob & Keith’s, made it his mission to reinvent the original on a sunny Sunday within Worship’s studio. What he produced is exactly what the duo wanted to hear – a deep and atmospheric piece that unravels over a 10-minute interstellar journey.
Next up David Marston evokes summertime vibes in a mellow rendition encompassing an electronic guitar and sultry synths. Tying up the package fellow Circle crewmember Sean Thomas delivers his ‘Mood Extender’ sound that utilises firm kicks, edgy keys and a powerful rhythm to form a tech house number with emotional depth.
Circle featuring Rise 8 drop ‘Gone Too Deep’ on Worship Recordings on 4th May (vinyl) and 1st June (digital) 2015.
