Gamuel Sori and Izzy Bizu are giving classic grooves a fresh twist with their new single, ‘Messing With My Heart’, out 23rd August on Dance Differently.

Sori’s production reimagines The Spinners’ original hit with modern rhythms and innovative soundscapes, infusing the track with vibrant energy while respecting its classic essence. Izzy Bizu’s captivating voice adds warmth and power, perfectly complementing Sori’s dynamic approach. Their collaboration bridges the gap between classic soul and contemporary trends, creating an exciting, 2024 version of a timeless favourite.

The original song was written by Stevie Wonder, Lee, Garrett and Syreeta Wright. The new production was handled by Gamuel Sori and Maury Pozzi.

“The creation of this track began during a period when I was listening to a lot of soul music. I stumbled upon The Spinners’ 1970s classic, ‘It’s A Shame’ and wondered how it would sound as a disco-house track. As a long-time fan of the incredible talented Izzy Bizu, I knew her soulful vocals would be perfect. She was thrilled to collaborate, and we quickly got to work recording. The result is a feel-good disco-house track that we are very proud of,” says Gamuel Sori.

“Working on this record with Gamuel Sori was an absolute honour. Disco has brought so much light into my life, and I hope it helps you dance away your blues just like it did for me!” Izzy Bizu says.

Italian DJ/producer Gamuel Sori, known for his “grooves made in Italy,” blends disco, house, and electronic influences to create captivating EDM tracks. Starting his career in 2020, he gained recognition with his debut track ‘Money’s Gone’ on BBC Radio 1. He soon became a fixture in Italy’s club scene, securing residencies in top venues like Number One Disco, one of Italy’s largest club. Gamuel Sori co-produced the platinum-certified ‘FASHION’ with Italian rappers ANNA, Lazza, and Tony Effe. Collaborating with international stars such as INNA, Gromee, and Mr. Belt & Wezol, his music reached audiences in over 10 countries across Europe and led to performances at the Amsterdam Dance Event. Early 2024 saw Gamuel Sori team up with award-winning DJ/producer Tujamo for ‘Sometimes’, which peaked at #20 on the German Dance Charts. Moreover, his collaboration with Molella and Minelli on ‘Let’s Dance (Volare)’ has climbed the radio charts in Lithuania and Bulgaria.

Izzy Bizu has quickly become a standout musical talent from the UK, captivating audiences with her vibrant artistry. Her collaborations with industry giants like David Guetta, Kungs, ODESZA, Robin Shulz, and others have showcased her versatility and solidified her reputation. Many discovered Izzy through her international hit ‘White Tiger’, which has over 114 million Spotify streams and saw a resurgence on TikTok in 2023. Her February 2024 collaboration with David Guetta and Kungs, ‘All Night Long,’ has already surpassed 40 million Spotify streams, and her recent track with Robin Shulz, ‘Only Way Is Up,’ has reached 5 million streams.

In 2023, Izzy joined ODESZA for their North American tour and will tour with them again in 2024 for their ‘The Last Goodbye’ Finale tour. With a promising lineup of upcoming collaborations, Izzy is poised for a successful year. Her early talent earned her a Brit Critics’ Choice nomination and the BBC’s Introducing Artist of The Year award in 2016, with further recognition on the BBC’s Sound of 2016 list.

This revamped version of a classic translates its vintage dance vibes for today’s dancefloors. Stay tuned for more dance madness from Gamuel Sori and Izzy Bizu.
