Cloudbounce Announces Integrated Abbey Road Studios Mastering Options

Finnish tech start-up, CloudBounce, has announced that it will be offering Abbey Road Studios’ mastering services as an integrated option alongside its own automated mastering service. The new partnership gives CloudBounce users the flexibility to choose between CloudBounce’s high quality, low cost online mastering, utilising cutting edge AI and machine learning, or the highest professional quality of an experienced, human mastering engineer at Abbey Road Studios. This new integration gives CloudBounce users access to the complete range of mastering options during their creative process, with the convenience of one platform. Costs range from just $4.90 per CloudBounce master with immediate turnaround, up to £90 (+ VAT) for an Abbey Road master, taking up to 5 business days to complete, all from www.cloudbounce.com.

The arrival of automated online mastering has provided a low cost flexible alternative to traditional mastering, and has allowed new workflows and creative opportunities, such as instant feedback on an audio track, a high quality demo to send to a label, or even a track immediately ready for commercial use. However, when the highest level of attention to detail and artistic sensitivity is required, human ears and years of experience are irreplaceable. Abbey Road Studios’ world leading mastering engineers are able to provide a bespoke service and level of assurance that autonomous mastering services are currently unable to provide.

CloudBounce CEO, Anssi Uimonen comments, “Cutting edge intelligent automatic mastering technology has allowed us to help the growing amateur musician segment by offering high sound quality with previously unheard of pricing and speed. It is a huge privilege for us to be able to open the door to the supreme legacy and quality of the Abbey Road Studios online mastering service via this online integration, and a huge bonus for our customers. We are now able to provide a scaleable and truly unique online mastering experience to cater for all price ranges and productions.”

A criticism often targeted at online mastering is that it is a disruptive technology which takes jobs away from skilled mastering engineers. With the Abbey Road Studios integration, CloudBounce aims to show that both areas can benefit each other. Rather than taking work from the industry, CloudBounce aims to create more work for all, by opening up quality mastering to all levels of music creators.

Lucy Launder, Head of Mastering at Abbey Road comments, “While some people see autonomous mastering solutions as direct competition to human mastering, our view is that there is very much a market for both. By positioning both services next to each other, CloudBounce is able to give music makers more options and flexibility.”

Anssi Uimonen adds, “Thankfully the audio community at large has now started to realise the new applications and opportunities cloud based automatic service can offer, for example fast operation, 24/7 availability, shareability, infinite cloud backup and so on. However, when the stakes are high or when there are specific nuances in a production that need attention, stretching for human mastering is the most rational choice”.

Getting a track mastered at Abbey Road Studios is easy with CloudBounce. Once a user has uploaded a track and listened to the CloudBounce mastered file, they are offered the choice to accept this master, adjust the mastering options or to send it to Abbey Road Studios for professional mastering. They can highlight a reference track and give notes to the mastering engineer. Payment is made to CloudBounce who then handle the process, making it as simple as possible. Then usually within 5 business days the user is the proud owner of an Abbey Road Studios master.

Prior to a professional master from Abbey Road, CloudBounce 2.0 can handle all mastering requirements. The recently upgraded mastering engine, takes automated mastering to the next level, interpreting the needs and nuances of different genres like never before, to offer an unrivalled and versatile range of hi-res mastering solutions for tailor-made sound, starting at just $4.90 per track, rising to an unlimited monthly subscription of $29.90, for two hi-res files per master and lifetime Cloud backup.

CloudBounce understand that mastering is the most important step in turning a track into a finished production that sounds professional across the myriad of formats and devices used today. They believe in more and better options to deliver great quality sound. Integration with Abbey Road Studios ensures CloudBounce can give every music creator the sound they want.
