For this first DJ mix in the new Mind Sets series, a new format consisting of two subsequent EPs, accompanying a generous compilation mix, Rebekah has skill fully mixed together 31 tracks by some of the finest and most significant Techno producers of our time. Almost half of the tunes have been released on CLR and vividly show the consistent quality of the releases on the German Techno imprint. The other tracks are often featured in her sets when she plays out and the mixture of those diversified and characteristic productions create more than just another banging Techno set, but take the listener on an exciting journey through contemporary Techno.
Exclusive tracks like Brian Sanhaji’s “Gyre”, which perfectly embodies the modern CLR sound, to Delta Functionens´ “Petrol”, which has a definite nod to a more traditional minimal feel and even James Ruskin’s “Wisdom of Youth”, a very melodic standout track, give this mix a personal, suspenseful note and a depth one cannot easily find in many current Techno sets. Rebekah mixes up this impressive number of top-notch productions in one and a half hours and demonstratively shows her long-time experience as a DJ as well as her good taste as a collector of cutting edge electronic music.
The first Mind Sets compilation mix achieves various goals at the same time. Apart from being an all-the-way entertaining DJ set, it invites the listener to learn more about a vast treasure of heartfelt electronic music way beyond the mainstream and creates curiosity to dive deeper into this intriguing field of mind-bending, ever-evolving sound. Rebekah has taken this challenge very seriously and has succeeded her mission without the slightest doubt. The mix skillfully connects the two EP samplers and completes the Mind Sets debut series in signature Rebekah style.
