Coco Cole – Say Yes Volume 1

Electronic music pioneer, Coco Cole will release Say Yes Volume I, the first in a series of free download compilations featuring underrated emerging electronic producers from around the world.

Celebrating the release, Coco will host a party on 26th March at Shapes in Hackney. Confirmed to play are 2ndSun, Lokiboi, Cloaka, Revenu and Coco Cole, plus secret special guests. RSVP for guest list.

Since 2013, Coco has been the voice and DJ behind Capital Xtra’s Clubbers Guide show every Friday night, as well as being recently announced as Emerging Ibiza Festival 2015’s first expert and Defected label’s new Bargrooves podcast host.

Coco started her career working for Black Butter Records running campaigns and releasing now successful artists like Clean Bandit & Gorgon City. Unsurprisingly, Coco is no stranger to discovering new talent and her first independently curated and released compilation is full of bass-heavy innovation.

Acclaimed photographers Abi Green and Sara Al Obaidly collaborated to produce the still-life artwork for Say Yes Volume I. Influenced by famous sculptor Alberto Giacometti, their work jests with the idea of ‘playful tension’.

“I’ve supported each artist closely for a few years now and felt it was time to collect that support-circle into a body of work. I can’t wait to show people how fantastic they all are.

Somewhat flexing my A&R muscles here, I’m bringing light to lesser well-known artists who I’ve been mentoring such as Revenu & Bamf, where as 2ndSun, Cloaka, iO Sounds, Majora, Volta Cab, Shox & Lokiboi have been cutting their teeth for a little longer and have gained solid support from fans, labels and other DJs and producers alike; I’m honoured to have them involved.

johnny_ripper I’ve known the longest and so we approached his track quite collaboratively; the sounds in his track are actually made from casual experimental vocals I sent him; the result was like nothing I could have expected.”

Ukrainian producer Volta Cab has had support from leading radio stations and released on Hypercolour, WITB, Morris Audio, Kolour and Undertones. From Bristol, 2ndSun have close ties with Purp & Soul Records and also from Bristol, Majora has released on San Fran label Hot’n’Heavy Records. Russian-Born UK-based Lokiboi has recently released on Capital Bass and Cloaka dropped his Adapt EP recently, reaching #5 on Juno’s Download Bass Chart.

iO Sounds recently put out his Uncut Vol I EP via 20:20 Vision and Shox has remixed the likes of My Panda Shall Fly, is supported on top radio stations and was voted one of FACT’s most underrated DJs. Bamf this month got his first daytime radio airplay with his track ‘Bats’ and like Revenu, has been working closely with Coco on his first releases. Canadian experimental artist, johnny_ripper has several projects under numerous names, with audio and visual concepts that refuse genre definition.

“I’m genuinely so excited by every single person involved in this compilation and I am so thankful for them agreeing to take part. I hope you enjoy and woop woop free music!”
