Get Physical are set to start 2018 at a great rate of knots, with new EPs and some heavyweight compilations all in the pipeline. Mid-February will bring an essential new single from Alessio Pagliaroli Feat. Jinadu that comes with two remixes by Massimiliano Pagliara.
Pagliaroli is an Italian DJ and producer based in Sabaudia on the West coast of the country. Since 2013 he has established himself with quality tech house sounds on labels like Moodmusic and Upon You Records. Making his debut on Get Physical, he showcases his dramatic and theatrical style in all its compelling glory.
The original, ‘Colour My Vision’, features vocals from vocalist, songwriter, keyboard player, DJ and one half of the band The Beauty Room, Jinadu. The British soul man has released on Freerange and Off Minor and here delivers an impassioned performance that is full of pain. It rings out above the rumbling, darkened house drums below and makes for a spellbinding and powerful cut that is guaranteed to make a huge impact. For more visceral thrills, a melodically majestic instrumental is also included.
The remix comes from another Italian, but one based in Berlin. Massimiliano Pagliara has been turning out cultured house and techno for a decade now. It comes on esteemed labels like Live At Robert Johnson, Ostgut Ton and Correspondant and fuses a broad array of electronic styles into scintillating sounds. His excellent remix strips things back to a more slippery and ethereal groove, with boom bap drums driving things forwards as the rippling keys and long tailed pads add to the lushness of it all. The vocals are still the centre point and ensure this is likely to become an underground hit in 2018. An instrumental version is also included.
This is a fine package that imbues great dance floor sounds with plenty of real musicality and emotion.
