Corey James & Santez – Artifact From 83
On Friday May 10th Steve Angello’s ‘SIZE Records’ imprint is set to unveil ‘Artifact From 83’ which has been produced by two Liverpool-based, SIZE favourites; Corey James and Santez.
So far, Corey James’ 2019 has been astronomical; his dedication to perfecting his sound in the studio has seen him unveil an official remix for Dada Life, whilst his anthemic solo ‘DNA’ via SIZE also peaked at #3 on the Beatport electro House chart. Corey’s ever-growing fan base has also seen him recently perform overseas in Thailand, Czech Republic and Spain, whilst he’s also scheduled to perform on this summer’s festival circuit at Medusa and Creamfields.
“In a time where everybody is sticking to 125/128 BPM and sounding similar, Santez and I wanted to try something completely different, outside of the box! I love ‘Artifact From 83’, it’s one of my personal favourites. When we were making it we had a lot of fun chopping old school rap vocals and combining them with some hard synths and big drums!” – Corey James.
Santez, the alias of DJ/producer Sam Bradley is an artist who oozes diversity; he efficiently and effectively flirts with various genres of dance music including Tech House, Techno and Progressive House. This formula for success has seen him land support from one of his biggest idols in Steve Angello, and also other top-tier artists including Kryder and Pete Tong.
“I am buzzing to be back on Steve’s SIZE label, it means a lot to me! As soon as me and Corey finished ‘Artifact From 83’ we knew we had made something special, listening to downtempo electronic music got us both very inspired in the studio. We wanted to create something that sounds so fresh and unique, and this record is the outcome!” – Santez.
‘Artifact From 83’ follows on from the success of Corey James and Santez’s 2017 released, BBC Radio 1 approved hit ‘With You’. The track carries a dark vibe throughout; the drops are composed of hard-hitting synths and drums, whilst the break also features various intricate layers including a rock-ready guitar riff, rap riddims and a snarling snare-driven build to get listeners rowdy.
