‘Profound Pleasure’ opens with a bass heavy kick and cracking wood drum followed by some heaving bass frequencies. The white noise storms in and out to introduce the vocal, a seductively spoken rendition by the classically trained vocalist Cari Golden. As the lyrics allude to the dark joys of revenge and broken love, the track breaks into a cascading and emotional cacophony. With its thumping energy and irresistible decadence, ‘Profound Pleasure’ is indeed a pleasure for those who favour the darker side of the dance floor.
