Dale Middleton – Reincarnations #002

The “Reincarnations” album series has been born of the creative endeavour of Omid 16B, with the aim of selectively guiding some of the scene’s most exciting, new DJ/Producers towards offering an interactive mergence of art, music and self expression. These are not your usual artist albums or compilation albums, where an ego is the focus, but a spontaneous venture, setting a new standard to how two creative minds can become one, and Dale Middleton’s instalment is one you don’t want to miss!

Dale Middleton is undoubtedly one of the UK’s fastest rising stars on the global electronic music scene. He has developed his own style within the Progressive House and Techno musical blueprints, alongside his distinctive blend of DJing, to produce and play some of the most exciting music around. His monthly Subsidence Sounds radio show www.friskyradio.com has further increased global awareness of his unique talents. Dale Middleton has the ability to always bring something special to the party and this album project with Omid 16B is no exception.

From the exceptional, melodic intro track (“Engage”, created specially for this album), Dale charts a course through some of his finest creations, alongside a peerless selection of complimentary electronic gems from similar-minded artists and remixers within the Sex On Wax/Alola labels’ catalogue. These include the chilled summer vibes of Kevin Di Serna’s remix of Omid 16B’s “Free”; the pure groove genius of Omid’s “On & Off”; Memory’s exceptional and uplifting “Freedom”; and a nod of respect to Arnas D’s (creator of the first instalment in the “Reincarnations” series) with the inclusion of his distinctive tough bassline remix of “Locked Groove”.

The album also showcases a selection of Dale’s own distinctive creations: The ever excellent “So Much More” and “Audit & Purge” (two of Dale’s first releases on the label); “Thorn In My Side” with its attention-grabbing vocal; the tougher, bouncing bassline of “Copper Top” (again created specially for this album project); the genre blurring “Vertex” with its synth magic and the pulsating “Offset” (both also created just for this album); then there’s the heart-stopping euphoric genius of “Eggos”, Dale’s melodic masterpiece…

Amidst all of this wonderful music, other label highlights have been carefully selected to cement the joyous creative vibe of the album. For many people, Danny Howells is a legend and his “Spikes” is one of Dale’s favourite tracks on Alola. “Best Things In A Very Short Time” revisits some classic SOS territory…

Alola’s “Cascading” by Vanilla Ace is represented here, with Alex George giving the monstrous original his own unique remix twist, while “I Lost My Neck (Omid 16B Remix) left a big impression…

With Vince Watson’s “Mystical Rhythm”(another producer that Dale admires immensely) fitting in perfectly before the cool outro of “Disembark”, Dale implements a stylish end to what has been a superbly engrossing musical journey. With skills like this, the future looks very bright for this young, rising star, and with music like this, the future of the electronic scene looks very positive indeed.
