Mirror People returns to his Belong Records imprint late September with ‘Dance The Night Away feat. Hard Ton’ comprising two original tracks and a remix from Pixel82.
Belong Records: ‘’Mirror People is a Portuguese new wave-disco musical project fronted by the multi-instrumentalist, DJ & producer Rui Maia. After a string of solid releases on labels such as Discotexas, Permanent Vacation, Gomma and Exploited, Mirror People steps up to deliver a on his own label, Belong Records.
Title track ‘Dance The Night Away’ opens things up, a funk-infused disco track, with funk guitars, pulsing bass and an emotive string section, featuring Italian duo Hard Ton, providing lush vocals and Sylvester styled falsettos.
‘Look Out’ is a perfect balanced combination between Maia’s early 80’s NYC ‘Talking Heads – Larry Levan – Arthur Russell’ inspired production and classic Chicago House vocals by the DFA / Defected producer James Curd. The track employs a solid beat, a brass section and experimental guitars.
The Pixel82 remix of title track ‘Dance The Night Away’ then rounds things off and gets things moving with a more house focused style layered with a punchy bass line and protruding rhythms.
Mirror People’s ‘Dance The Night Away’ is out on Belong Records 28th September 2015.
