Dancing On The Charles Vol. 2

Boston natives and world-class house music afficionados, Eli Goldstein and Charles Levine AKA Soul Clap started throwing our Dancing On The Charles parties next to Boston´s most famous river back in 2008. Back then they had no idea it would become the inspiration for a now annual music compilation showcasing the immense talent of Boston´s electronic music producers.

Vol 2 showcases a collection of music that embodies the spirit and persistence that fuelled those epic riverside summertime parties, and continues to guide the Boston dance music scene. Soul Clap are responsible for remixes for the likes of Little Dragon and more recently the forthcoming EP from John Newman, as well as colloborating on material for the legendary George Clinton of Parliament fame.

Dancing On The Charles Volume 2 picks up where Volume 1 left off, and features an even more diverse range of music. An overall deep feeling is this years´ theme, as we dive into a 13 track selection from repeat contributors and new Soul Clap Records recruits.

BACKGROUND

Returning to the series is rising deep house talent Caserta, alongside our favorite afro-funk producer of 2013 Bosq (who has teamed up with Soul Clap for the release no less). Bon Jonson will appear as both Nightriders and Peyote Purple, while Tate Masimore aka Chas Bronz will present his new project, The Sheffield Boy with young guns Smeed & Suspence. Not forgetting the smoothest of the smooth, Roldy Cezaire.

New artists include Boston tech house staple Tamer Malki and former Phoenix Landing resident D-Lux, who will debut her very first release for Soul Clap Records. Disco-connector Serge Gamesbourg, all round disco dude Brenden Wesley and Tuck Diggz (working alongside Mystery Roar) help complete the tracklisting alongside new Boston transplant James Cook, who Soul Clap have been following since his college days and are finally getting out on their label.

Time flies when you´re having fun. After more than six years in the spotlight, Soul Clap will never forget where we came from, and Dancing On The Charles Volume 2 is their latest tribute to our hometown.

Soul Clap play The Sinclair in Boston on 15th May alongside PillowTalk and Tanner Ross. For full gigs head to www.soulclap.uk/dates
