Danny Howard and Nigel Harding announce new label

RCA UK yesterday announced an exciting new partnership with music innovators Danny Howard and Nigel Harding and their pioneering dance project, Nothing Else Matters.

As a result of this agreement, Nothing Else Matters Records will now officially launch with RCA. The first release on the label, in partnership with Resilience Records, will be the much-anticipated 99 Souls, ‘The Girl is Mine’ featuring Destiny’s Child and Brandy – a track that has already attracted a great deal of hype in the blogosphere and has already been supported by key tastemakers including Radio 1’s Pete Tong.

Since debuting in 2011, Danny has exploded to the fore of dance and underground music  – and become one of the UK’s most high profile DJs.

He has achieved stand-out success with his weekly Dance Anthems Radio 1 show as well as playing two full US tours, headlining nights all over Europe and hosting a much lauded residency in Ibiza.

Danny has partnered with his former Radio 1 colleague Nigel Harding for this new venture.

Nigel is renowned for giving new acts career-changing exposure. He has played a pivotal role in breaking some of the UK’s biggest artists of recent years including Years and Years, Clean Bandit, Biffy Clyro and Florence and the Machine.

In the past four years, he has also entered both The Guardian’s ‘Music Power 100’ and GQ’s ‘Most Influential Men in Britain’ lists.

This new venture was agreed with Sony Music UK Chairman and CEO Jason Iley and RCA President Colin Barlow. It will see, RCA, Danny and Nigel partner to discover the best new dance music talent.

Danny Howard says: “Every day I’m discovering new tracks and extremely talented artists. Aside from supporting them on air and on the dance-floor, I’ve always wanted a way in which I can help even more people hear these incredible sounds.

“With Nothing Else Matters Records, we will focus on releasing tracks, curating events and representing dance and electronic music as the lifestyle we all live and breathe.

“We’re extremely proud to kick off with ’99 Souls – The Girl Is Mine’ as the label’s first release.

“After all, Nothing Else Matters…But The Music.”

Nigel Harding says: “Having really enjoyed working with Danny on his Radio 1 show, I jumped at the chance to work with him on this record label.

“We share the same passion for dance music as well as the excitement of discovering and breaking new artists.

“We couldn’t hope for a better launch than ‘The Girl Is Mine’, a track that totally encapsulates the sound we want for the label: credible dance music with massive appeal.”
