DANTIEZ SAUNDERSON – DEEP SOMETHING
refused. welcomes Dantiez Saunderson, son of techno pioneer Kevin Saunderson to their roster of young, talented producers with his new EP “Deep Something” out April 28th. To follow up from an exciting appearance on Richie Hawtin’s CNTRL tour in New York City, and leading a master class on music production and DJing, Dantiez Saunderson releases two original tracks with remixes from label owner Justin James and Rory PQ. Growing up with an influential music figure like Kevin Saunderson in Detroit, a city rich in techno and house music culture, it’s no wonder Dantiez eventually gravitated towards pursuing music.
Dantiez Saunderson starts off with an original groovy house track “Deep Something.” This track features deep warm basslines, classic hi-hats and captivating vocals. Justin James bring in his influence to the track with his remix exuding a darker bassline and full bodied synths. Exploring the classic techno style of Detroit, Justin James works in industrial sounds a driving bassline, and plays with the vocals to give “Deep Something” a raw techy resonance.
Rory PQ takes the track to the deep end with his sexy, groovy deep house remix. Deeply majestic chords and strong stabs give his remix a smooth and bouncy and simply classic sound. Dantiez Saunderson channel his inner techno with this second original track “The Way We Move.” Dantiez explores a unique and hypnotic techno sound with this track as it has all the generic qualities of a proper techno production, while adding warm and moody percussions and sizzling synths.
