Daria Mirea, a Romanian singer-songwriter, gained national attention on The Voice of Romania in 2018. She began her songwriting journey in 2020 and attended London Music School.
Daria Mirea’s ‘Before It Gets Dark’ is her second single, showcasing raw vocals and dreamy soundscapes. The song evokes emotions of sadness and hope, transporting listeners to enchanting soundscapes. She composed the track on a chilly September evening, collaborating with Romanian-based Andrei Horjea and London-based Jules Konieczny to create an organic track supporting growth and healing.
The powerful lyrics and heartbreaking instrumentation over the catchy melody of the song symbolises the want to be a companion on people’s journeys of healing and progress. Along with Daria Mirea’s soft vocals, the pop song includes acoustic guitar, piano, violins, percussion, bass, and electric guitar.
“From the intimacy of a warm summer evening to an ultimately withered September, ‘Before It Gets Dark’ details the intricate journey of coming to terms with heartbreak, encapsulating feelings of hopefulness, longing, and despair, all the way to acceptance. It evokes the universal truth that humans chase fleeting dreams, even though these can leave us in the dark if they don’t reach fulfillment. This song was my companion in my own journey of healing and growth, and I can only hope it will do the same for anyone in need, as I believe it is through accepting vulnerability and becoming more in touch with our feelings that we gain strength,” Daria Mirea says.
