Mile End turn to prominent DJ/producer Darius Syrossian for their next EP, a meaty, three track affair that deals in no nonsense house music.
Syrossian has long been a contemporary house pin-up who has a cult following around the world. He is a headline act who plays the globe’s key events and clubs, is currently on a road to Ibiza tour with Santé and Sidney Charles and has released on Avotre, Hot Creations, Sankeys Records and many more besides.
Up first is ‘All Night Long’ (main mix), a slamming, timeless affair with robust kicks, icy hi hats and some seriously rich, rounded bass. Acrobatic, old school vocal yelps help really set things on fire and this one is sure to become another modern classic as a result.
‘Contel is Back’ is a more tech house inclined cut with a robust and physical dancefloor tilt. With filtered vocal coos scattered around the mix, clicky percussion and tumbling toms, this is a sweaty and complex track that proves Syrossian is a masterful arranger.
Lastly, we get treated to a melodic mix of ‘All Night Long’ that is deep and bubbly, inviting and warm. Glassy tinkles and coarse claps power things along, but there is so much soul in the vocal its hard to focus on anything else. A fine alternate version to round out another strong EP, few people make house as essential as Darius.
