Maya Jane Coles - Darkside (Mella Dee Remix)

Mella Dee steps up for a remix of Maya Jane Coles’ ‘Darkside’, the third EP to be taken from the independent artist’s highly praised new double LP ‘Take Flight’ – called by DJ Mag her “landmark album”. The remix sees the UK producer inject his signature blend of high energy techno, house and breaks.

‘Darkside’ is one in a string of releases to surface from the celebrated ‘Take Flight’ album and the latest to receive the remix treatment. Mella Dee joins the likes of Tiger Stripes, M.F.S: Observatory, Boxia, Catz N’ Dogz, Mak & Pasteman and Wax Wings in providing a club-ready remix of ‘Take flights’ best moments.

Mella Dee turns ‘Darkside’ into a pulsating club ready cut with billowing vocal edits, filtered break-beats and hazy synths that erupt into high octane, four to the floor madness. It’s the distinctive, high-energy sound we’ve come to expect from the London based artist whose music has surfaced on Lobster boy, Digital Soundboy and many more tastemaker labels.

Maya Jane Coles is a resolutely independent artist who writes, produces, engineers and creates the artwork for all her music. From winning multiple awards, touring the world’s greatest venues, supportingDepeche Mode to releasing mix compilations for DJ Kicks, Fabric Live, remixing The XX to EllaFitzgerald to Bonobo, leading campaigns for Doc Martens or being sampled for Nicki Minaj’s mega hit‘Truffle Butter’, Maya Jane Coles is at the very summit of her game.
