David Morales reveals 3 track Latin Jazz inspired release, ‘Brooklyn Friends’
Veteran DJ and producer David Morales steps away from the club to explore more personal territory on ‘Brooklyn Friends’, a vibrant three-track release available exclusively on Bandcamp. Drawing deeply from his Puerto Rican heritage, Morales offers a warm, rhythmically rich palette that trades his usual house anthems for a more organic, sun-drenched sound.
He’s joined by an accomplished ensemble: pianist Axel Tosca, percussionist Steve Thornton, and bassist Slick Tim, each bringing texture and nuance to the live instrumentation. The result is a hot platter of tracks that feel both celebratory and intimate. ‘Boriqua’ and ‘ Brooklyn Friends’ comes loaded with percussive detail and melodic pizazz, while Morales’ take on Tito Puente’s ‘Oye Como Va’ respectfully reinterprets the classic with a gentle modern twist.
‘Brooklyn Friends’ is available now on Bandcamp only.
