DC Salas ‘Don’t Be Scared’ EP drops on Biologic Records this November including Pink Skull & Boot & Tax remixes.
Following on from it’s eighteenth release that picked up heavy-hitting support from the likes of Dubfire, No Artificial Colours and Sean Johnston Biologic Records returns this November with DC Salas ‘Don’t Be Scared’ EP. Diego Cortez Salas aka DC Salas has previously stacked up releases on My Favorite Robot, Correspondant, Kill The DJ, B-Pitch Control & Clouded Vision, for his fifth EP he makes his long-time-coming debut on his own label Biologic Records delivering three powerful tracks sublimely blurring the lines between disco, techno and electro.
Title-track ‘Don’t’ Be Scared’ has already seen major support in the clubs from Daniel Avery, Ivan Smagghe, & Tim Paris, and considering the warped acidic twist Diego has laced his punchy original with alongside distorted stabs of sub bass and tumbling keynotes that comes as no surprise. First up for remix duty are Optimo Trax affiliates Boot & Tax, the Italian natives dish up a dynamic cut utilising rumbling bass, catchy shifting percussion and extended modulations to twist the original into an infectious grooving techno cut.
‘Cold Night’ is tumbling off kilter house cut, carved out of chugging bass, jolting drums and wacky tones to culminate in particularly kinetic final product while ‘Slow Down’ really does what it says on the tin stripping down to low-slung, slow paced jolting beats besides arpeggiated keys and alternating claps to lay out a hypnotic offering from the Biologic head honcho. For a punchy final cut Biologic have roped in a trio who have released on imprints such as Throne Of Blood, My Favorite Robot and Special Box, for their re-imagining Pink Skull work in rippling drums over hypnotic beats and whirring space-like atmospherics to dish up a profound and powerful EP closer.
DC Salas ‘Don’t Be Scared’ EP is out on 10th November on Biologic Records.
