Ahead of the release of retrospective double-LP ‘5 Years Of mau5’, iconic ‘Dirty Dutch’ producer Chuckie has turned his hand to remixing classic deadmau5 record, “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff”.
Whilst the original mix is widely recognised as one of deadmau5′ most influential tracks to date, Chuckie’s punchy, synth-rich rework provides a welcome, contemporary electrohouse twist that certainly taps into the excitement already surrounding the release of ‘5 Years Of mau5’. Re-layering Rob Swire’s anthemic vocal over a thumping, hard-edged bassline, it’s lucidly simple in its construction – as all good dance records should be – and serves as a great introduction to Chuckie’s revered ‘Dirty Dutch’ production remit, whilst simultaneously reminding the world just how crucial a record ‘Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff’ remains.
