BBC Radio 1 DJ and producer Danny Howard has unveiled his new after-hours mix of Riton and MNEK & House Gospel Choir collab ‘Deeper’ – out now.
Taking ‘Deeper’ to more gritty levels, Danny keeps sections of the original’s vocal, whilst chopping in brooding loops to create a rugged tech-house sound. The production follows an incredible run for Danny, who has just unveiled his brand new two-track Feel Real/Kid EP on Shadow Child’s label, Food Music,as well as a brand new EP from his esteemed label, Nothing Else Matters featuring Mason Maynard, Apexape, The Golden Boy and PAX.
The original version of ‘Deeper’ has been gaining widespread support since its release with over 1.5million Spotify streams and enjoying several weeks in the Radio 1 Specialist Chart. ‘Deeper’ follows Grammy-nominated producer Riton’s previous singles ‘Money’ and ‘Rinse & Repeat’; with the latter spending a record-breaking 7 weeks at #1 in the BBC Radio 1 dance chart. Lacing the track with his rich vocals, MNEK, whose Zara Larsson collab ‘Never Forget You’ is surging towards 500 million Spotify streams, teams up with House Gospel Choir to form a soulful rendition of the Aretha Franklin original from 1993’s ‘A Deeper Love.’
Taking ‘Deeper’ to a late-night club floor feel through his tribal production, Danny Howard’s interpretation of ‘Deeper’ further cements his status as one of dance music’s diverse and dynamic remixers and producers, building on the original success of esteemed producer Riton, and highly acclaimed song-writer, and vocalist, MNEK.
