Design Manchester & The Warehouse Project join forces to open this year's edition of DM18 (10th – 21st October), Manchester's city wide festival of creativity and design, with exclusive launch party on Tuesday 9th October 2018, featuring End Of Store Street exhibition and Q&A with prominent figures.
With the collection curated by the original Warehouse Project photographer Sebastian Matthes and designer Paul Hemmingfield, it's a comprehensive exploration of what made Store Street so unique and a celebration of the remarkable legacy it leaves behind.
The evening, hosted at PLY in the Northern Quarter, will feature a Q&A hosted by Crack Magazine, looking at creative highlights from WHP history, the impact the iconic design and photography has had on the development of The Warehouse Project's brand and public image, plus the creative philosophy behind the company. Discussing those topics will be Co-founder & Director Sam Kandel, original photographer Sebastian Matthes (06-18), original WHP graphic designer Paul Hemmingfield (06-18) and resident WHP photographer Pippa Rankin (12-18).
With residents Krysko, Greg Lord and Will Tramp providing the soundtrack, the discussion will touch on some of the legendary nights from WHP history, while also looking to the future, after ten years at the infamous Store Street venue and twelve years making its mark on the city of Manchester.
The Warehouse Project & Design Manchester present…End Of Store Street exhibition will show at PLY from Wednesday 10th October 2018 to Sunday 4th November 2018.
The theme for this year's Design Manchester festival is DISRUPT, celebrating the noise-makers, the pioneers, the inspiring creators and disrupters from all fields. For further information, announcements, updates and ticket information please visit: www.designmcr.com/events/whp-x-dm18-opening-party
